RAIN'S B-DAY BUNDT
Topic: RECIPES

The first cake from a mix had issues and we ended up throwing it away. We tried to add fresh strawberries to the box mix and they did not bake in to the cake.

YUCKY....MESSY!!

I was lucky enough to find a Strawberry Cake From Scratch  Recipe      and I had everthing I needed to make it on hand.

Rain doesn't like frosting so we added some curly ribbon, powdered sugar, a couple of candles, and Meguru fit perfectly in the center of the Bundt.

Life is so much easier when your children like frosting and will settle for a grocery store bought CAKE!!!!

Happy Birthday RAIN and MEGURU.

I think I love baking now because of warm and fuzzy childhood memories baking with my mom or my grandma.  I have nothing to do with box cakes now, nor store bought ones.  Baking from scratch is joyful--relish it, cherish it, hold it dear.  Now, come on, I know you feel that way too!  I think it's so sad when people have no clue what real baking is all about or what it tastes like.

OKAY, maybe you're right. :}

It gives me an excuse to wear an apron and feel totally domestic, even if it means cleaning extra dishes.
