Happy New Year to all of my Bloggy Friends!
In the Jan 07 Prevention Magazine there was an article about a woman that creates a visual road map of the things she plans to accomplish during the year. I thought is was a great idea and decided to make my own map instead of a New Years Resolution List.
Merry Christmas to all of my friends.
These two little mice were a gift from a friend named Linda Throckmorton that owns a fabric store in Machias Maine called Ginghams.
Linda is a great crafter and quilter, and wanted me to share my little mice online.
This font is so cute it is called Christmas on Crack (LOVE IT)
I DID IT COLEEN, I DID ALL 25!!!!! WOOOHooooo.....I'm AWESOME!!
Now I'm going to treat myself to a little 80's Wham Christmas Song, and a juicy plump pomegranate to remind me of my home and family in California.
I never get tired of Paper Dolls. I gave Rain the paperdoll set for the vintage stop animation Rudolph, and it had all of the misfits and Bumble.
I love working with paper, especially Japanese Ningyo paper dolls.
I can't wait for Valentine's! :}
Have a Great Christmas Eve.
When I am in a pinch and I need a small box template I know I can always turn to Mirkwood Designs. I think she has the sweetest templates for treat and cake boxes. I was surprised to see the wine glass shade template.
Thank You Mirkwood Designs!
The Maine State tree is the White Pine. I have had pine nuts in my Pesto, BUT THIS IS SOMETHING ELSE.
I will have to try the pine needle tea YUM! :}
Rain helped me make these little santas, and we had a blast!
We made a total of 19 and the fabric was 2.00, the fill 2.00 and the felt was .20 a color. We had embroidery floss, glue and thread on hand.
Holiday Crafting is a little corny, but so much fun!
I think that my idea of a perfect Christmas would be having family over for a potluck of food and handmade crafts all on a long community "serve yourself" style table.
My daughter Crystal gave me my Christmas Gift early and it is the Greenleaf 1/4" scale village. I don't have the time to finish it before Christmas, but they seem to fit in with the other 1/4" dollhouses I have.
I have had so many splinters from this kit. The other kits are made of soft basswood that locks together, but this village has to be glued together and is made of very brittle wood. I think it would be easier to use the kit as a template for a foam core village. I have grown attached to this little village so far and I think I will keep it up year round. I have a long window that would look great with it.
Sometimes I get a kick out of SCI FI movies, and although I plan on having a friendly village. I can't help wanting to turn the village into M. Night Shyamalan movie THE VILLAGE with the forbidden color red, a blind girl, and "the things we do not speak of". Another wild idea that came to mind was to turn it into the Summers Isle village from the recent remake of the movie THE WICKER MAN.
Women Power!!! :}
Hitty received her necklace swap this week, THANK YOU DONNA!
Next month I have decided to try and carve my own Bitty Hitty
for the fairy swap. I have until March to mail it, so we will see how they turn out. :}
I made these mini Steiner dolls from Soozs pattern for a little girl named Anna that comes to visit me when I work at the Post Office.
There is a great Flickr Steiner group.
I'm amazed with THE PAPA of BIODYNAMICS!
