Topic: HOLIDAY FUN
Okay I caved! I decided to join the Hitty necklace swap and I was bored over the weekend so I made nine Fresh Maine Wreaths.
Maybe they are not so fresh!
But they were fun to make. :}

This is a 1928 vintage Thanksgiving book I have that has poems, music, and sweet little Thanksgiving songs.
THANKSGIVING TIME
Thanksgiving Time has come again,
The joy time of the year,
When all the happy people,
are filled with joy and cheer.
When all the crops are gathered,
And all the work is done,
When everyone is ready,
For heaps and heaps of fun.
When apples, nuts, and pumpkins,
Are gathered in the bin,
When uncles, aunts, and cousins,
All go a visitin'
Wouldn't it be great to visit a town during Thanksgiving, and not have to worry about the dirty dishes?
We wanted to do a Seafood Thanksgiving this year, but we decided that our dog Mai wouldn't like it so I have to make the traditional meal. I can't believe that our meal choices are starting to include OUR DOG! :}
A month ago I started a new blog and group for wooden penny peg dolls and 1/4" dollhouse miniatures called Pixziez. A friend on the Yahoo group named Laurel introduced me to the HITTY DOLL CRAZE! What a fun group.
I hope to have Pixziez up in full force after the holidays, hopefully it takes off better than Hot Mitt Monthly. Wooden Penny peg dolls and 1/4" minis are easy to swap and make. I am keeping my fingers crossed that British Penny Dolls will have the same success as the American Hitty.
Someone just can't wait for me to finish my next basket :}
I have decided not to stain the basket with basket stain.
I am trying to find a natural way to stain the basket.
This year Rain gave me two books for my Bithday, one for basket weaving and this one for spinning using a drop spindle. This book is only about thirty something pages, but it is packed with clear directions on using a spindle, and fun projects. There are directions on how to make and use a CD spindle and one pattern for a bunny bag is made using angora fur directly from the rabbit.
Maybe someday I will move on to one of these.
Thank you Rain!!
This is a very old painting near my front door of St. Terese. I was inspired to join a Catholic Home Flickr group after I posted the St. Jude prayer. I have always wanted to make my own rosary, and I think it would be a nifty idea to add them as an extra Christmas gift for my fmaily members this year. I might not be able to make them out of rose petals but there are so many pretty beads at craft stores, I'm sure I can come up with something nice. I will post my creations closer to Christmas.
I am so thankful for this prayer that I came across last year in the newpaper. I have promised to publish it every year on my blog and in the newpaper. So here it is. :}
I had to post this sweet little embroidery image on Hoop Love.
I just joined a group on Flickr that Green Wellies invited me to called TRUE LOVES
It is a group to post images of the things that are meaningful to you.
Such a sweet idea for a group, YOU HAVE TO JOIN!
My daughter was going to get me some wooden butter spoons that mold butter into pretty designs, but I just came across some folk art goodness. I have seen Mexican and Chinese papercuts but these are so pretty I think it will be the next thing on the "TO DO " list.
