Japanese Doll Crafting
Topic: CRAFT BOOKS

My daughter and her friends both online and locally are Pullip Crazy. I decided to give her an early Easter Treat. The book on the left
ISBN# 4-7661-1627-5
has patterns that resemble British Punk Wear. Last night I found myself hand sewing a pleather corset (fetish sexy wear top)
For a doll????
The book on the right
ISBN# 4-7661-1600-3
is more conservative and has simple easy to sew patterns for tops, dresses, and accessories. Both books are great and better than Barbie patterns. Rain (my daughter) can't seem to choose a favorite. I'm so glad that SHE WILL BE DOING THE SEWING.
My eyes can't handle such small pieces.

Jell-o Jiggler Bean Mold
Topic: MY SWAPPERY

This month Swap Bot had a recipe and handmade treat swap that my daughter talked me into being a part of. It seems that there was a virus going around, because my swap partner just informed me that she was running late sending her handmade treats for fear of sending me her germs.
(Don't worry Libby, my daughter and I came down with the same thing.)
We decided to send our swap partners Jell-o packages, and a Jell-o bean mold, along with 10 funky Jell-o recipes. I couldn't resist buying one for myself. You use two packages of Jell-o per bean mold and they come out gummy like gummi bears ( not so much like Jell-o)
Jell-o makes a sour green apple flavor that makes great Jiggler beans.
You have to use your finger to glide each bean out individually so it's best not to fill them to the very top. I am so happy that Ebay had these. :0)

5 Books That Have Changed My Life
Topic: FUN STUFF

These are the five books that have changed my life for Tigerluxe

1.) ME TIME by Stuart Semple available on PDF here. I bought this E-book as a joke for myself and I practiced all of the exercises for 14 days with my daughters for fun, just to see if it really worked, and most of the things we visualized came true using his 14 day exercises. I go back to this book even now. It's pretty amazing!

2& 3.) The Key and Be the Person You Want To Find are both Zen based books from here. Despite the fact that I am Catholic, I love all of Cheri Huber's Books. They have changed my life completely.

4.)Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn
Isbn# 1-57174-381-2 My mother gave me this book. I love Lynn's direct no nonsense approach to life and the power our feelings have in our lives and how to (as she writes) "keep your valve open"
I like this book better than any other self help book about 7 habits or Deepoks exercises.

5.) Creating an Herbal Body Care Business by Sandy Maine Isbn# 1-58017-094-3 I really like Sandy's Business Advice. I didn't buy this book with the idea to start an herbal business, it was the way she describes business in today's world. She writes that it's not a HOW TO book, but a "HOW CAN"
I have had two businesses in the past that I ended up getting bored with and selling, and most of the business books and courses I would take have always had the same messages. Evaluate the market for your products, location, a two syllable business name, a simple logo, advertising over the crease of the newspaper on the right hand side, blah...blah..blah.
I realized after reading Sandy's book and the interviews of other business owners that both times that I was in business, it was just to push a product and make a quick buck. Sandy's book is the BEST business book I have ever read.

1920's Cloche Hat
Topic: PATTERNS

I made this hat for the swap from a pattern I purchased awhile ago from The Vintage Pattern Lending Library
I wanted to add ribbon and flowers or lucky charms on the edge of the hat but since there was such a concern about the package running late I'll let the future owner add what she likes. I did get a chance to embroider the words "lucky Hat" on the inside.

I love Cloche Hats.

Green Swap
Topic: MY SWAPPERY

These are the items I made for My Colorized Swap Partner on Flickr. I don't think I will join that swap group ever again. I was running a little late sending the items to Portugal because I had to take care of paperwork for my taxes and one of the Admins sent me an email with a nasty undertone.
I see swapping as a way to spread kindness and happiness. This Swap was an UNHAPPY SWAP for me.
If I'm nice enough to say I'm running late, that should be better than not sending anything at all.
