Pinata Goes to Hawaii for CC Swap on Flickr
Topic: MY SWAPPERY

I have really enjoyed the CC swap because I was able to connect with my swap partner and share ideas and experiences about the swap and life in general. The nicest part about CC Swap to me is that you have the opportunity to not just exchange items but also exchange feelings and ideas and friendship with your swap partner BEFORE they receive something from you. Swap Bot and Swaporama are great swaps, but CC swap seems to put the personal connection before the material connection. Nicole is sending me some things that are part of Hawaiian culture and living in Maine left me pretty limited. I turned to my Hispanic culture for inspiration. After reading her Flickr profile, I decided that I should make something in Red and Pink to resemble a Pi?ata filled with candy and trinkets. I purchased the fish bag pattern at GHEE'S
Hawaii is a six hour time difference, so I'm hoping that she has received it today. I don't pick out great candy, but I was able to find a bag of red Swedish Fish Candy to put inside.

* Must have a Flickr account

I posted this pattern on Flickr for Amy Karol for posting her hot pad on Hot Mitt Monthly.
Thank You AMY!!
As soon as the weather starts to get warm I can't help wanting to hang my clothes outside to dry.
They always smell so much better when they dry outside.

RECIPE FOR LAVENDER WATER TO SPRAY ON CLOTHES

3 cups of distilled water
3 ounces vodka
15-30 drops essential oil of lavender

Sterilize a glass container by placing it in boiling water for 3 minutes. Allow to cool.
Pour the distilled water and vodka in to the glass, using a funnel if needed..
Add the lavender oil and stir.

Results will mellow with time. This lavender water will last approximately 1 year.

GREAT TO SPRAY ON CLOTHES AND PILLOWCASES. :0)

Thank You Libby For the TREATS!
Topic: MY SWAPPERY

These are the TREATS that Libby sent me from the Recipe/Snack swap. She also sent some great recipes in a nice wipable binder.
(wipe-able it's a word TODAY)
One of the fun things that Libby shared is an "8 week freeze it swap" she does at work where her co workers get together every eight weeks and each person brings a freezable lunch food item to share(soups, casseroles, etc.) along with plenty of empty Tupperwares. They all swap and load up their empty Tupperwares with the different dishes to take home and freeze and have plenty of food to take for lunch until the next "8 week freeze it swap".

GREAT IDEA!!!!

Lauri and Ben's Banana Muffins
1/2 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1 egg
1 c. mashed banana (about 3 bananas)
1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 1 tsp. water
1 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp vanilla 1 c. chocolate chips

Cream ingredients in order. Bake 12-15 min at 375 in 2" muffin tins.

Japanese Doll Crafting
Topic: CRAFT BOOKS

My daughter and her friends both online and locally are Pullip Crazy. I decided to give her an early Easter Treat. The book on the left
ISBN# 4-7661-1627-5
has patterns that resemble British Punk Wear. Last night I found myself hand sewing a pleather corset (fetish sexy wear top)
For a doll????
The book on the right
ISBN# 4-7661-1600-3
is more conservative and has simple easy to sew patterns for tops, dresses, and accessories. Both books are great and better than Barbie patterns. Rain (my daughter) can't seem to choose a favorite. I'm so glad that SHE WILL BE DOING THE SEWING.
My eyes can't handle such small pieces.

Jell-o Jiggler Bean Mold
Topic: MY SWAPPERY

This month Swap Bot had a recipe and handmade treat swap that my daughter talked me into being a part of. It seems that there was a virus going around, because my swap partner just informed me that she was running late sending her handmade treats for fear of sending me her germs.
(Don't worry Libby, my daughter and I came down with the same thing.)
We decided to send our swap partners Jell-o packages, and a Jell-o bean mold, along with 10 funky Jell-o recipes. I couldn't resist buying one for myself. You use two packages of Jell-o per bean mold and they come out gummy like gummi bears ( not so much like Jell-o)
Jell-o makes a sour green apple flavor that makes great Jiggler beans.
You have to use your finger to glide each bean out individually so it's best not to fill them to the very top. I am so happy that Ebay had these. :0)
